I am honored to submit this letter of recommendation for Don Dabbert as he seeks the position of Third Vice Chair for the National Association of Home Builders. I met Don about 5 years ago, when I first started getting involved with the North Dakota Association of Builders. Don from the beginning was someone that I looked up to both professionally and personally. I still remember the first day I met him, I said to myself “Wow this guy is intelligent, try to learn something from him” And that I did. Don works hard, plays hard, he puts his wife and family first, he put his health in priority, and he is extremely generous. His work with non-profits is second to none. Don has encouraged me to be more involved, he taught me the importance of BuildPAC contributions, and he taught me to hold myself to a very high standard. Don is humble, steadfast, and someone we should all aspire to be like. True leaders create more leaders; and Don is one of the true leaders. Don motivates me to be the best version of myself, and I am thankful for everything that I have learned from him. I would go to the ends of the earth for this man. For all the reasons above, I would give my recommendation for Don Dabbert to be considered for the position of Third Vice Chair of the National Association of Home Builders.

Life Director NAHB
I have had the pleasure of knowing Don Dabbert of Fargo, ND for several years, initially connecting during our shared service as State Representatives. Through our early interactions, I was immediately struck by Don’s profound dedication to the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and his distinguished status as a Senior Life Delegate.
Don succeeded me as the Area 10 National Area Chair, and our transition was marked by a shared commitment to industry progress. I sought his partnership in establishing a Workforce Development Committee, a critical initiative that required tenacity and a clear vision. Thanks to Don’s steadfast leadership and his refusal to accept “no” as an answer, we successfully launched a dedicated Task Force last fall.
Don acutely understands that the current labor shortage is not just a statistic, but a significant barrier to our members’ growth. He is a decisive problem-solver who tackles challenges head-on rather than deferring them. It is with great enthusiasm that I endorse Don Dabbert for Third Vice Chair of the NAHB in 2027, confident that he will lead our association toward a prosperous
future.
